WinWatermark ProfessionalEditing Images – Crop
NOTE: Click any image in this article to enlarge the image OR right-click any image and select "Open Link in New Tab" to view the image full screen. Mac Users: CTRL + Click = Right click Another feature of WinWatermark Professional is the ability to Crop images. Cropping an image is a sharp way of enhancing a picture’s subject. Cropping can also improve an image’s focus, creating an effect that pulls the subject closer to the viewer. Because the crop function is specific to each individual picture, attempting to crop images in batch mode is not recommended. Batch mode processing is readily available and configurable for all WinWatermark features, including the Crop feature. However, applying Effects to multiple images is not an option in WinWatermark.
From the editing window, select the image to be cropped from the Active Batch List and click the CROP button at the bottom of the screen. The easiest way to crop an image is to the grab the small orange handles (red circle), one at a time, and drag each corner towards the new focus of the image.
Once you’ve dragged each corner inward, and are satisfied with the cropped image, click the APPLY button.
NOTE: Clicking the APPLY button does not close the CROP window.
Once an image has been cropped, the crop icon is placed next to the image in the Active Batch List.
Did you change your mind about the cropped image?
If so, simply select the image from the Active Batch List; click the CROP button at the bottom of the page to re-open the Crop window.
To revert the image back to its original dimension/size, simply click the RESTORE button in the Crop Window. NOTE: The Crop window will not close until the X in the upper right hand corner is clicked. Once an image is restored, the crop icon is removed next to the picture in the Active Batch List.
The Crop feature can also be configured manually using the LEFT and TOP areas.
By typing in the number 50 for the TOP value, the orange handles move down the picture from the top by 50 pixels.
Typing in the number 50 for the LEFT value, moves the orange handles to the right from the left side by 50 pixels.
Another option that can be used to crop images is to manually enter a specific width and height.
When those dimensions are entered, WinWatermark creates a crop box with a starting point in the upper left hand corner of the image.
NOTE: Images optimized for Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Email, Flickr, and eBay are typically set to 320x240.
Click within the crop box, and while holding down on the left mouse button, drag the box over the area you want as the new focal point. When satisfied with the placement of the crop box, click the APPLY button.
Be sure to close the Crop window by clicking the X in the upper right hand corner.
As is true with any cropped image, a small crop icon appears next to pictures to indicate the original photo has been modified.
As a reminder, to revert an image back to its original settings, select the image and click the CROP button.
From the Crop window, click RESTORE and close the window. |
